The morning starts early at 7AM with Amanda checking us in at Delta. It was nice to have her walk around the line of people with my bags.
We flew to Melbourne, Florida on Delta. It was an interesting ride since our MD-88 took off straight up like a rocket. I'm not sure which was more discomforting. The rocket ride, or the ride to Orlando at 100mph with the blonde Richard Petty driving. She is an expert though at drafting off the cars in front of us.
We got to Orlando around noon, and apparently the hotel knew that we were planning on completing the now famous "Drinks around the World" at Epcot. They gave us the handicapped room.
Other than being freezing cold in Florida, it was beautiful weather. It was about 1pm, and I laughed at Amanda, who is always cold, but was wearing just a thin sweater. I teased her about how long she would hold out before buying a Disney sweatshirt.
The first real picture with our only moment of clarity at Epcot.
We actually tried to check out the pavillions at most of the countries we went to. The pavillions basically consist of shops selling some pretty authentic stuff.
The food at Mexico was comical. Check out our chips and salsa we bought for a starting snack. They are some poor man's tostitos and a container of salsa that said "Made in Orlando" on it.
Beer #1 in Mexico at 1:40pm (Dos Equis)
We bought our passport that kids get stamped to show they've been to each country. It comes with stickers of flags and pictures of the pavillions. You put the stickers on, then you head to a kids table to have it stamped and signed in the native language. This is beer #1, at 1:40pm, which as you can see is Dos Equis. All but 3 of the 11 countries had 20oz beers.
The whole World Pavillion is around a lake. Its a pretty large complex.
Looking back at Mexico...
