On this trip to Oktoberfest, three of us actually didn't back out and went. The crew was Amanda Larkin, Brian Folse, and myself. We are all friends just looking to get into a little trouble. The first picture was taken about 7 hours into our journey. You are looking at Dublin, Ireland at about 7am. If you look carefully, you will see people passed out all over the city.
All three of us are very different so it made for an interesting trip. This is Brian's suitcase. Notice how neatly everything is packed.
This is my suitcase. Notice how everything is just thrown in there with absolutely no thought of folding anything. There are no pictures of Amanda's luggage since she is kind of hippy like and only brought 2 pair of pants for 10 days.
Mmmm, Mayo on french fries. The northern Europeans seem to really like this. Actually it's very good. The mayo in Amsterdam is nothing like you get here. It is much sweeter and tastier.
Our plane landed in Amsterdam around 8am. We proceeded to get on the wrong train to the city. Finally we got to the city, ditched our luggage, and hit the town. We explored some and then had some lunch and some coffee. We slept for a few hours in the afternoon and went back out. Our first restaurant in Amsterdam for dinner was Italian. It was pretty good.
This must be where we ate.
Amsterdam the first night. We stayed out until about 5 or 6AM both nights in Amsterdam. It's amazing how busy the city stays all night.
De Zotte. This is a great Belgian bar that has about every Belgian beer you could ever want. Amanda was our expert since she works at a great bar in Decatur that now has a Belgian specialty. Some of the pictures are dark or a little blurry because I don't like going to local hangouts and using a flash like some obnoxious tourist.
